David Aycan

David is a Design Director and Business Design Discipline Lead at IDEO where he helps companies ranging from Fortune 500 firms to startups to drive growth and strengthen their relationship with customers. David has experience integrating a strategic business perspective with a human centered design approach to create new-to-the-world products and services. During his seven years at IDEO, his experience has ranged across several industries from commercial real-estate to education, and food and beverage to financial services, but he makes sure to stay close to his passion: finding new ways that information technology can make our lives more delightful and productive.

Prior to joining IDEO, David co-founded and ran skateboard company Wongneto and apparel company Dull Clothes. He has been interviewed by Forbes on ways that corporations can learn from startups, was featured by BusinessWeek as one of ‘21 People Who Will Change Business’, and wrote ‘How Business People Can Become Business Designers’ for Rotman Magazine. David has lectured on design process, venturing, and business model design at Stanford, Fuqua, Rotman, Wharton, and various Silicon Valley incubators.
