Bilge Ozaydin

Bilge Ozaydin is a research scientist with extensive experience in molecular biology and genetic engineering of microbial organisms. She earned her Ph.D. at UC Berkeley and completed her postdoctoral work at the Joint BioEnergy Institute of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories where she used her scientific background to metabolically engineer microbes for production of biodiesel and other industrially relevant chemicals.

In addition to her academic work, Bilge also participated in various science and education startups where she served as a consultant for content and user interface of web and smart-phone applications.

Bilge recently earned Marie Curie Action fellowship of European Commission and is currently establishing a synthetic biology division at the newly founded Life Sciences Research and Application Center of Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey.
